Cloud 9 Nursery, Sedgley

Description

Just MCP carried out a broad nursery fit-out for Cloud 9 Nursery in Sedgley, adapting the premises to create functional staff, kitchen, toilet and play areas. The project brought together building works, partitioning, ceilings, finishes, electrical services, security systems and plumbing within one coordinated package.

Building works

Building works included creating new openings, removing internal walls, widening the lobby entrance frame, installing rear fencing for the new play area and fitting 80m2 of rubber smart playground matting.

Staff room, kitchen and lobby

The staff room included 7m2 of 75mm metal stud partitioning, an oak veneer door and a laminated glass window modular. The kitchen included 14m2 of partitioning, an oak veneer door and a kitchenette with cupboards, sink, drainer and upstand. Lobby works included an oak veneer door and replacement external door.

Ceilings, toilets and internal finishes

Ceiling works included 144m2 of AMF Feinstratos tiles to match the existing nursery. The toilet block included 10m2 of 100mm metal stud partitioning, oak veneer door, ply pattresses, Whiterock splashbacks and mini-height toilet dividers. Additional works included column boxing, a dwarf wall to the shop front, a changing mat frame, vinyl manifestation and repainting.

Electrical and life safety systems

Electrical works included decommissioning existing supplies, repositioning an EV charger, installing a sub-main and distribution board, LED panels, emergency packs, exit signage, external lights and socket outlets. The fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm and video door entry systems were extended or installed to support the new nursery layout.

Plumbing

Plumbing works included decommissioning the existing toilet block, first fix pipework for wall hung basins, mini low-level toilets and kitchenette sinks, with kitchen sinks and taps supplied by Just MCP.
