Lallemand, Malvern

Description

Just MCP completed specialist works for Lallemand across a media and store room area, helping prepare and refurbish the space with practical laboratory finishes. The project included strip-out, flooring, hygienic wall protection, plumbing, painting and new worktops and wall units.

Strip-out

Existing labs were stripped out, with materials skipped or left for metal to be scrapped. Existing floor tiles were retained, while wall tiles were removed ready for the next phase of works.

Flooring and hygienic finishes

A total of 44m2 of vinyl cap and cove flooring was installed to match the existing labs, with screeding required prior to installation. Whiterock was also fitted behind lab cupboards and the sink, including window sill works.

Plumbing

Plumbing works included a new oversized stainless steel sink and drainer, pot clean pressure washer tap, removal and capping of existing wall radiators and capping off the floor drain before screeding.

Furniture and finishes

The rooms were prepared and repainted using white acrylic wipeable paint. New Trespa worktops on cantilever legs, upstands and matching wall units were installed to align with the existing phase 1–2 laboratory furniture.
