Description

Just MCP supplied and installed a new mezzanine floor for Project 23 Gym at Squab Hall Farm, creating additional usable space within the unit. The works combined structural mezzanine installation with access, safety and fire rating requirements.

Mezzanine floor

The mezzanine floor covered 50m2, measuring 6.25m by 8.00m, with a design load of 9.60kN/m2. The floor was designed with a 3000mm deck height, 2708mm underside height and 38mm P6 C Grade HDPB decking.

Access and safety features

The installation included a split utility staircase with 900mm wide treads and a mid-landing, a 1500mm sliding gate, and 10 linear metres of standard hand and knee rail with galvanised kick plate.

Finishes and fascia

The mezzanine structure was finished in RAL 5015, with 11 linear metres of fascia installed in a colour to suit the project.

Fire rating

Fire rating works included 50m2 of AMF STAR 600×600 one-hour fire rated ceiling and grid, plus 8 white one-hour fire rated column cases.
